John Paszterko

John A. Paszterko, Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for leading Nerdy’s day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, and scaling technology-enabled processes across the organization. John joined Nerdy from Amazon, where he spent nearly a decade in senior leadership roles, most recently serving as Director of Amazon Customer Excellence Systems (ACES) for North America Customer Fulfillment. In that role, he led a 180+ person team spanning product, program, and data science, overseeing operational efficiency, robotics integration, and technology deployment across more than 200 fulfillment centers and multiple business lines. Prior to joining Amazon in 2016, John served in the US Army for over 10 years, deploying to both Iraq and Afghanistan. His military career includes leading infantry in combat with the 101st Airborne Division, large-scale infrastructure programs, and joint operations with international partners, earning him multiple commendations including the Bronze Star. John holds a Master of Science in Global Business and Finance from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in French and Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is fluent in Hungarian, French, and Russian, and lives in DC with his wife and family.
